Principles and values

Association pour la Solidarité et l'Assistance Socio-Sanitaire

ASASS-Burundi believes that every human being is valuable and essential for the development of a just society.

Only access to education, health and a fair distribution of resources and opportunities can grant a sustainable and equitable development in the whole world.

Our core values are reflected in the
Millennium Development Goals, which mark the roadmap towards a just society where people can live life at its fullest. This is what the world needs and what we stand for:

1. End Poverty and Hunger
2. Universal Education
3. Gender Equality

4. Child Health

5. Maternal Health
6. Combat HIV/AIDS
7. Environmental Sustainability
8. Global Partnership

ASASS-Burundi is not about charity it is about solidarity and brotherhood. It is about pulling together people, efforts and energies at all levels from grassroots (where needs are most felt and human rights are often ignored) to international cooperation.

Burundi needs the instruments and knowledge to participate and become fully engaged in the drafting of the present and the future of the country. Only in this way a peaceful democratization process can be developed and sustained.
