Campaign and Fund-raise for Education in Burundi
One of the top priorities for ASASS right now is to raise funds in order to ship a container with 22.000 books from USA to Burundi, you can monitor the progress of this project at the following link http://www.booksforafrica.org
In your neighbourhood, church, club, school, campus, university, you can setup a campaign, to make everybody think and act on the importance of EDUCATION FOR LIFE. This world will never find happyness, freedom, health and peace, until there are children who can not go to school or have no resource to enable them to become active and indipendent citizens, to grow interests and passions, to take up challenges and find solutions.
In many countries and societies where children do not have to fight everyday for the right to education, the importance and power of education is sometimes minimized or maybe just taken for granted. At ASASS we would like all communities all over the world to go back to their own history, looking back at how difficult it has been to take children off the road and workplace and grant them education. How challenging it has been to make education a right and not just a priviledge for the lucky few.
In africa and in Burundi we need to move forward in the same way, we need to make education a human right not only on paper but in reality.
Raise your voices and join your efforts for also Africa has to develop and enjoy the right to education!!
We invite you all to organize with your teachers and peers a campaign to encourage reflection on what is education, what it does, where it takes you, how it makes you feel. We invite you to join our voices because education is the key to peace and happyness all over the world.
Send us your videos, interviews, poems and drawings on what is education, what your life would be if you could neither write nor read.
